Summary
Revati Phalkey has been a Postdoctoral fellow (50%) at the institute since 2012 on the DFG project to design a blueprint for urban disease surveillance for Pune, India. Recently, she has completed her doctoral dissertation evaluating the integrated infectious disease surveillance system in Maharashtra, India. Ms. Phalkey also works as part time post-doctoral fellow (50%) within the climate change and health group at the Institute of Public Health, University of Heidelberg where she investigates the association between all cause mortality and climate variability in the city of Pune. Her fields of expertise and interests include health systems research with a focus on health information systems, infectious disease surveillance with a focus on outbreak investigations, and health in emergencies especially natural disasters.
