• Project: PhD research within the TRAILS program (TRacking Ameland Inlet living Lab Sediment), a multidisciplinary collaboration funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), in partnership with TU Delft, the Royal Netherlands Institute of Sea Research (NIOZ), and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences.
• Dissertation: From light signals to sediment pathways – developing luminescence as a sediment tracing tool.
• Education: supervision and guidance of an MSc student through independent research and analysis.
• Outreach: Conceived and launched the TRAILS Late-Night Science Show, a creative video format communicating research outcomes to a wider public audience.
• Contributed custom functions to the open-source R luminescence package.
• December 2025 – February 2026: extension PhD project funded by additional grant PE&RC graduate school.

• Thesis: Investigated low-frequency, high-impact mass movement events in the Pokhara Valley (Nepal) using novel luminescence techniques. In collaboration with the Universities of Cologne and Potsdam, and Tribhuvan University. Grade: 8.5 (out of 10).
• Internship: GFZ Potsdam (Germany) — studied sediment sequences in the Ore Mountains to reconstruct past land-use dynamics.
