Since 2019, Moritz Breul is working as a postdoctoral researcher within the working group 'Economic Geography and Global South' at the Institute of Geography at the University of Cologne. His current research focuses on new regional path development and its regional economic effects in distinct regional contexts (Germany, Namibia, Vietnam). In his doctoral thesis, Moritz Breul studied the organization of the global oil and gas value chain in Southeast Asia. During his doctorate he was a visiting research fellow at the National University of Singapore in the Department of Geography (2016) and at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in the Economic Research Center in Jakarta (2017). Before starting his position at the University of Cologne, Moritz Breul received a Master degree in Economic Geography from the University of Hannover and a Bachelor degree in Human Geography from the University of Muenster.
